This January transfer market is always a period of intense rumour and possible major transfers. A number of notable footballers find themselves connected to moves away from their present clubs. Here is a look at some of the top names that could be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the AFCON, this has left the player available, it appears a major move is close. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract with a sizeable buy-out clause applicable for a brief period at the start of the month. Latest reports indicate the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his signature. Former suitors like Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have turned their attention to alternative targets, leaving clubs such as Manchester United or Liverpool to make a last-minute bid.

Marc Guéhi

The English defender has continued to excel for Crystal Palace despite a summer move to Liverpool falling through. With his deal due to run out in the close season, January is the club's final chance to obtain a fee for their skipper. Numerous elite clubs, including Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to hold an interest. However, a winter exit is considered difficult, especially given the coach's reliance on the defender.

B. Johnson

This Welsh winger has found starting minutes hard to come by at Spurs this campaign. Despite finishing as the side's top scorer last season, Johnson has started just a small number of league matches. Reports suggest the London club is open to a sale for the correct price, thought to be in the region of forty million pounds. Bournemouth are currently at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an interest.

The experienced German shot-stopper is now as third-choice at Barça following the manager Hansi Flick. After fallen out of favour and had surgery, a winter departure looks increasingly likely. Villa were initially mentioned as a possible destination, but that move now appears off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly expressing curiosity in the keeper.

Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ Alkmaar first team. The teenager is widely tipped to complete a big-money move this month.
