According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her private aide.

The statement indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

In October, the US supreme court rejected an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
